Built On Local Knowledge
Merrick & Thorne was founded in 1987 by Margaret Merrick and Jonathan Thorne, two newly-qualified solicitors who set out to build a firm that treated clients as people, not files. Nearly four decades on, that principle still guides everything we do, from the way we answer the phone to the way we explain a completion statement.
We remain a genuinely independent firm, which means every decision about how we work is made locally, by the people who do the work, rather than dictated by a national head office. Every client gets a named solicitor who knows their matter properly, from first enquiry through to conclusion.
